BTG’s EAE to AB Suite migration services began in 2008, following the migration of our proprietary retail banking system from EAE on MCP to AB Suite on Windows. Since then, our team has helped a number of organizations move from the new Unisys development environment.
Our approach is to start with a migration assessment and then create a high-level project plan. Most EAE to AB Suite migration projects involve more than just moving code from EAE to AB Suite as interfaces, GUI, databases, etc. need to be considered. Following the assessment, we work with the client to finalize the technical details of the migration plan. If the client does not have the hardware infrastructure to support the migration project while running their existing systems, then BTG can offer our services to import, validate and generate the EAE model in AB Suite while also completing the migration fault analysis. BTG can also communicate on behalf of the client with technical people at the Australia Center of Unisys Software (ACUS) regarding any AB Suite issues discovered during assessment and migration.
Usually a team of four to five specialists are involved in EAE to AB Suite migration projects, including one Team Lead/ AB Suite Consultant, one System Administrator and two to three AB Suite Developers. AB Suite Developers mostly work on testing the migrated system and fixing issues in the migrated code. If additional skills besides EAE and AB Suite are required, for example, C#, to rewrite the interfaces, BTG has other technology specialists in-house who can assist.
